Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Academy
The science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) magnet academy at Marietta Center for Advanced Academics provides third through fifth grade students an integrated, rigorous academic program. Based on the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS), the comprehensive, STEM magnet program uses a balance of texts and technological resources to provide an education that is challenging at higher levels, and faster-paced, than most traditional elementary learning environments.

Georgia Census Awareness Week, Mar. 8 – 14
The 2010 Decennial Census will be here soon, with census forms mailed to all Georgia residential addresses the week of Mar. 15. The Georgia Complete Count Committee, in cooperation with the Governor and the General Assembly, has declared Mar. 8 – 14 as Census Awareness Week.
Board Names Scott Burton New Head Coach - MHS Blue Devils Football
The Board of Education of the City of Marietta has named Scott Burton, most recently an Assistant Football Coach at the University of Richmond (Virginia), as the new Head Football Coach at Marietta High School (MHS). Burton will teach Social Studies and serve as Liaison of Football Programs at MHS. He will assume the post Apr. 1, 2010. More»

Cybersafety Booklet For Parents/Kids Now Available
Net Cetera: Chatting with Kids About Being Online, a new booklet released by the Federal Trade Commission, tells parents and teachers what they need to know to talk to kids about issues like cyber bullying, sexting, mobile phone safety, and protecting the family computer. The free booklet is available at OnGuardOnline.gov, the federal government’s online safety Web site.
