  • Apple for your Teacher Contest - Nominate Your Favorite Teacher

    An Apple For Your Teacher Contest - Nominate Your Favorite Teacher Superior Plumbing and the Marietta Daily Journal have teamed up to give local K-12 teachers working in kindergarten through 12th grade a chance to win an iPad during each week of the 2013-2014 school year. Parents and students can nominate a teacher online. The Marietta Daily Journal Staff will select a winner from the nominations received each week and will present that winner with an iPad. A photo of the teacher and the students will appear in the newspaper each week. This contest is open to any teacher whose primary residence is within a 60 mile radius of the Marietta Daily Journal.

  • Blue Ribbon Award Marietta Center for Advanced Academics (MCAA)Principal Jennifer Hernandez recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for the 2013National Blue Ribbon Award Ceremony. The U.S. Department of Education honored236 public schools at the event with each school receiving a plaque and a flagas symbols of their status as National Blue Ribbon Schools. MCAA earned thedesignation for attaining high levels of studentachievement.

  • MCS School Counselor - Guest GSCA Conference Speaker, Nov. 14 - 15

    Malti Tuttle, professional school counselor at Marietta Center for Advanced Academics (MCAA) and Marietta Sixth Grade Academy (MSGA) recently presented to fellow school counselors at the Georgia School Counselor Association Conference. Tuttle’s presentation focused on interventions and strategies for students dealing with Anxiety and Stress. School counselors serve all Marietta City Schools students through a comprehensive school counseling program focusing on academic, career, and personal/social domains.
