Meet the Principals
Heather Woods, MCAA Principal
Dr. Ayana Oden, MCAA Assistant Principal
Dr. Ayana Oden has more than 22 years of experience in education. She has served as a classroom teacher in grades 3-5, a mathematics Early Intervention Program (EIP) teacher, an instructional coach, and her current role as assistant principal.
She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, a Teach for America Alumni (Atlanta ’01), and holds a Ph.D. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics education. She also currently serves on the Georgia Department of Education Mathematics Advisory Committee, has worked as a mathematics consultant with Metro RESA, and presented at a number of conferences including the Annual Georgia Council for Teachers of Mathematics (GCTM).
Dr. Oden is a wife, and mother of two daughters, and two Yorkshire Terriers. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and traveling.
