Mission & Vision

Vision Statement

MCAA graduates are reaching their fullest potential while maximizing college and career opportunities. They are responsible, innovative, and contributing citizens in a global economy who respect themselves and others.

Mission Statement

The MCAA School counseling department provides our diverse learning community with equitable access to a comprehensive counseling program while promoting core values of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. The school counselors advocate in a collaborative effort to provide data informed, tiered interventions for all students to promote positive, long-range results for their academic achievement, social-emotional development, and college/career success.

Belief Statement

The beliefs of the MCAA Counseling Program include:

  • All students can learn at their own ability level to achieve academic success.
  • All students have the right to a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • All students have the ability to acquire and uphold the characteristics of the three Rocket R's: Ready, Respectful, and Responsible.
  • The school counseling program is preventative in nature and developmentally appropriate for all students’ academic, social/emotional, and career development.
  • The school counseling program relies on data-driven evidence to assess the needs and effectiveness of the school counseling program; and will drive future program offerings, development, and evaluation.
  • The school counselors actively advocate for the needs and equitable treatment of all students.
  • The school counselors collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community stakeholders to plan, manage, deliver and evaluate school counseling programming.
  • The school counselors adhere to the professional and ethical standards of the Georgia School Counselors Association and the American School Counselor Association.
