MCAA Rocket Report: Back-to-School Edition

As summer winds down, we are excited to welcome our MCAA families back for another incredible school year!

As summer winds down, we are excited to welcome our MCAA families back for another incredible school year! We hope you've enjoyed a season filled with rest, fun, and time together. Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is Rooted in Excellence: Growing Beyond Expectations. It reflects the strong foundation of academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful relationships that make MCAA such a special place. Together with our students, families, and staff, we will continue to nurture curiosity, inspire growth, and challenge one another to reach even greater heights.

Here, you'll find everything you need to prepare for a successful start to the school year, including important dates, Sneak-a-Peek information, supply lists, transportation, enrichment opportunities, and more. Once school begins, I'll continue to keep you informed with a newsletter every other Thursday filled with updates, celebrations, and helpful reminders. We can't wait to welcome our students back into the building in just a few short weeks. Here's to another year of learning, growing, and thriving together as we remain Rooted in Excellence and continue Growing Beyond Expectations!

Sneak-a-Peek: August3

We look forward to seeing everyone at our Sneak-a-Peek on August 3rd from 9:00-11:00. To space out parking, we ask families with last names beginning with A-L to visit between 9:00-10:00 a.m. and families with last names beginning with letters M-Z to visit between 10:00-11:00 a.m. If you have children at other schools and need to alter your time between the two sessions, please do so. If you are an MCS elementary employee and need to come at a different time because you host your own sneak-a-peek, please let us know so we can accommodate you.

School Supply List

As you prepare for the new school year, you will find our most current school supply list for all grade levels linked here. You're welcome to bring your supplies to Sneak-a-Peek to avoid carrying too much on the first day.

Class Placement Emails

Class placement emails will be sent on Friday, July 24th.

Uniforms, House Shirts, & Spirit Wear

Uniforms: Students are required to be in uniform unless the school has a designated Dress Down Day. Students can dress down every Friday and on one Thursday per month, designated by the PTA, if they have purchased a dress-down tag. Spirit Wear can be worn daily as part of the school uniform. Spirit wear, dress down tags, and house shirts can be purchased through the school store. Find the MCAA uniform policy here.

House Shirts: Our Houses (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking) are a fun part of MCAA culture. They unite grades and promote STEM thinking through a series of challenges throughout the year. Each student will have a t-shirt that represents their house. You may purchase your house shirt now through our PTA school store. You can order now without knowing your homeroom teacher. Our wonderful spirit wear leads will get the right shirts to students. House shirts will be distributed the first weeks of school or can be picked up at Sneak-a-Peek if ordered in time.

Lunch

Marietta City Schools uses LINQ Connect for all of your school lunch needs. With LINQ Connect, you can manage school-related fees and meal balances in one place. You can also apply for free or reduced-price lunch through school services.

Bus Routes

MCS bus service is provided for students who live within the city limits. You can find your bus routes linked here. Click HERE for all other transportation needs.

Marietta Community Schools ASP/BSP Programs

Registration for the general Before School Program (BSP) and After School Program (ASP) childcare has now closed. However, families can still register for Marietta Community Schools Enrichment Clubs, which are now open for enrollment! These fee-based enrichment clubs meet before school from 8:00–8:45 a.m. and provide students with exciting opportunities to explore new interests and develop new skills. Clubs begin August 17 and run for 12 weeks. Registration is open through August 12.

In addition to Marietta Community Schools' offerings, MCAA will once again offer a variety of school-sponsored clubs beginning in September. Registration details and meeting dates will be shared during Curriculum Night. A tentative list of clubs and meeting days is included above to help families plan. Space is limited, so students may not be able to participate in every club they select. We encourage families to explore the many enrichment opportunities available through Marietta Community Schools.

26-27 MCAA SGT

Our Student Governance Team (SGT) plays a vital role in school decision-making, helping shape policies and priorities that impact student learning, safety, and school climate. The team includes teachers, parents, and a community member who collaborate with school leadership to ensure all voices are represented. We are so grateful for the leadership and partnership of our SGT past and present as we head into an exciting school year. This year’s SGT members are:

26-27 Field Trips

To help families plan ahead, we're sharing this year's field trip information and payment link a bit early. We know the beginning of the school year often comes with many expenses, and if you're like me, you like to get things checked off, so we hope this gives you a head start on budgeting and planning. While payment is not required immediately, families are welcome to begin paying at their convenience. We look forward to providing our students with enriching learning experiences throughout the year!

In the Community

Marietta Youth Football: There are still a few openings for rising 5th-grade students interested in playing in the Marietta Youth Football League (MYFL), the official feeder program for Marietta Football. It's a great opportunity for students to build skills, teamwork, confidence, and leadership while having fun.
